The new FIS Telemark race season brings competition to some of the most iconic ski destinations in Europe. From glacier training grounds in Austria to steep French racing slopes, each venue offers a unique character and terrain that shapes the World Cup.

🇦🇹 Hintertux, Austria
Season Opening — 28–29 November
Altitude: 1,500–3,250 m
Terrain: Glacier slopes, wide, stable pistes
Hintertux is one of Europe’s only 365-day ski areas. The glacier provides reliable early-season snow, perfect for the opening Telemark World Cup. Athletes love its long, consistent pitches ideal for classic Telemark turns.
🇮🇹 Pinzolo, Italy
19–20 December
Altitude: 800–2,100 m
Terrain: Forested slopes, technical sections
Located in the Brenta Dolomites, Pinzolo delivers a mix of natural beauty and technical race pistes. The resort is known for sharp transitions and fast, narrow sections that require precision and strong edge control — very Telemark-friendly.
🇮🇹 Carezza, Italy FIS Telemark race
14–15 January
Altitude: 1,180–2,337 m
Terrain: Sunny Dolomites slopes with steep walls
Carezza sits under the legendary Rosengarten massif. It is famous for bright weather, perfectly prepared pistes, and steep gradient changes. A favorite among World Cup racers for its high-speed turns and perfect visibility.
🇨🇭 Melchsee-Frutt, Switzerland
23–24 January
Altitude: 1,920–2,255 m
Terrain: High plateau, open carving slopes
Melchsee-Frutt is a Telemark classic. The course often includes windy, exposed terrain and wide turns that reward aggressive skiing. Its altitude ensures stable mid-winter conditions.
🇸🇪 Trillevallen, Sweden FIS Telemark race
05–07 February
Altitude: 800–1,200 m
Terrain: Classic Scandinavian terrain, rolling slopes
One of Scandinavia’s oldest alpine resorts, Trillevallen offers cold, consistent snow and flowing terrain. The Telemark course here is known for smooth transitions and a friendly Scandinavian atmosphere.
🇨🇭 Thyon, Switzerland
08 February — FIS Children Event
Altitude: 1,800–2,100 m
Terrain: Sunny slopes with easy access
Part of the 4 Vallées area, Thyon supports youth development with well-prepared pistes and excellent training facilities. An important stop for the next generation of Telemark racers.
🇳🇴 Ål, Norway
13–15 February
Altitude: 500–1,200 m
Terrain: Steep Scandinavian pistes, fast sections
A powerhouse Telemark destination. Ål hosts some of the most intense races of the season with icy Nordic snow and steep start sections. Many top athletes consider Ål one of the most challenging tracks.
🇮🇹 Bardonecchia, Italy
11–16 March — World Cup + Junior World Championships
Altitude: 1,300–2,800 m
Terrain: High-speed Olympic pistes
Bardonecchia hosted events during the 2006 Winter Olympics and remains a top-level racing venue. Wide slopes, big verticals, and excellent snowmaking make it ideal for both World Cup and Junior Worlds.
🇫🇷 Pra Loup, France
19–21 March
Altitude: 1,600–2,600 m
Terrain: Long pistes with big elevation changes
Pra Loup is known for long, leg-burning courses — a true test of physical conditioning. The snow here stays cold and dry, providing excellent surface quality late in the season.
🇫🇷 Les Contamines, France
26–28 March — World Cup Finals
Altitude: 1,164–2,500 m
Terrain: High alpine slopes with technical sections
A spectacular venue beneath Mont Blanc. Les Contamines’ slopes combine steep sections, rollers, and technical gates — perfect for an exciting season finale. This resort often creates some of the closest battles of the year.
