“LA TZIGIÈRE” TELEMARK RACE

La Tzigière: A Telemark Challenge in the Heart of Valais – March 23, 2024

Grimentz, Valais – Get Ready for a Day of Fun, Competition, and Telemark Tradition!

In the majestic setting of Grimentz, the Grimentz St-Jean Telemark Club is proud to present La Tzigière, a unique telemark competition that promises an exciting day for enthusiasts of all levels. Whether you are a beginner, a mini expert, or someone who loves to hit the slopes in period attire, this event is designed to challenge and entertain.

The Competition:

La Tzigière offers a distinctive course featuring mini jumps, looms, and skating sections, testing the skills and agility of participants. The event embraces the rich tradition and evolving nature of telemark skiing, celebrated in the beautiful Valais region.

Program for the Day:

• Registration: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM at Hotel Restaurant Alpina.
• Reconnaissance: 10:00 AM – 10:40 AM at the top of the Tsarva chairlift.
• La Prière: The race begins at 10:50 AM.
• Canteen: Enjoy refreshments at the finish area until 2:00 PM.
• Prize-giving Ceremony: 3:30 PM at Bendolla.
• Avalanche of Telemarkers: A spectacular descent at 4:00 PM towards the village.
• Après Ski: The fun continues from 4:15 PM onwards.

Categories and Registration:

• Mini mixte: 2005 and younger: Free
• Blue: 2000 to 2004: CHF 10.-
• Masters: 1967 to 1999: CHF 25.-
• Experience: 1966 and older: CHF 25.-

All telemarkers are invited to participate and test their mettle on this unique course. With a variety of age groups and categories, there is a place for everyone to compete and enjoy the thrill of the race.
