San Martino Telemark Free Heel Spirit in the Dolomites
At the end of January 2026, the Dolomites will once again welcome the telemark community for the San Martino Telemark Event 2026, a two-day festival dedicated to free-heel skiing, shared culture, and mountain tradition.
The event will take place on January 31 – February 1, 2026, in San Martino di Castrozza (TN), Italy.
This telemark festival is designed for skiers of all levels. It combines technique, style, learning, and community moments in a relaxed alpine atmosphere.

Friday, January 30, 2026 – Welcome Evening
The event begins with an informal meeting in the evening.
Participants gather at Vecchia Fornace pizzeria for a friendly start to the weekend.
Reservations are required and must specify the telemark event.
This evening sets the tone. It is social, relaxed, and focused on community connection.
Saturday, January 31, 2026 – Clinics and Community
Saturday starts early at the Tognola base area, where participants meet for breakfast and accreditation.
During the day:
- Beginner imprinting sessions are available for newcomers.
- Advanced telemark clinics run from 10:30 to 12:30 and require prior booking.
- Ski instruction is led by qualified telemark professionals.
In the late afternoon, the focus shifts from skis to conversation.
An apericena at Tabià San Martino brings everyone together.
The evening includes an open discussion about the role of free-heel skiing in modern Italian culture, followed by music and social time.
On Saturday only, the event features a special appearance by the Krampus, adding a unique local character to the day.
Sunday, February 1, 2026 – Style Competition and Closing
Sunday continues at the Tognola area with breakfast and accreditation.
The day includes:
- Beginner imprinting sessions.
- Advanced clinics by reservation.
- A telemark style competition in the afternoon.
The competition takes place on the slope in front of Malghetta Tognola.
Riders are judged by an experienced jury, focusing on style, control, and telemark technique.
The event concludes with final greetings in the late afternoon.
Telemark, Learning, and Community
Throughout the weekend, participants have the opportunity to:
- Test equipment.
- Join telemark lessons with certified instructors.
- Share experiences with skiers from different regions.
