Telemark Competition at Kotelnica Białka Tatrzańska

The Telemark Section of the SN PTT Club Zakopane 1907 invites enthusiasts of the free heel to the seventh annual Telemark skiing competition. This event, open to all, including non-Facebook users, promises a day of fun and social gathering for Telemark skiing aficionados.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2024, the competition aligns with the International Day of Telemark, celebrating this unique skiing technique that combines elements of Alpine and Nordic skiing. Kotelnica Białczańska Ski Resort, located on trail no. 8a, will once again host the event, continuing its tradition as the go-to venue for Telemark competitions.

The competition will follow the classic Telemark format, challenging participants to navigate through gates, jump off ski jumps, complete a 360-degree loop, and finish with an uphill sprint to the finish line. Competitors can enter in one of three categories: Children, Women, and Men, with the event organizers delighted by the growing number of children participants each year.

The main partner and co-organizer, due to its venue, is Kotelnica Białczańska. The event is supported by Tatry Super Ski and has received the Honorary Patronage of the Polish Olympic Committee for another year. The organizers aim to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, as usual. Each participant will receive a commemorative badge, a tradition by now, guaranteed good weather, a hearty and tasty meal post-competition, and a local day-long ski pass. An album-photo report of the previous year’s competition will be prepared as a unique memento for participants.

Note for Competitors:

The competition is aimed at amateurs. Thus, holders of PZN racing licenses participating in the event will not be classified in the results table. There is a three-year grace period following the end of the license.

Registrations are open via email at snptt1907gt@gmail.com, with updates available on Facebook. The entry fee is 80 PLN, payable by transfer by February 29, 2024, to the account number provided, with the payment confirmation attached to the registration email.
