“Invitation to Telemark Gatherings in Norway: January and February 2024”
The Norwegian Ski Federation extends a warm invitation to the Telemark community for a series of gatherings and events scheduled for January and February 2024. With the season in full swing, the national team’s coach, Lars Ove, shares a New Year’s message and updates on plans for the upcoming months.
A Season of Growth and Development
The past autumn and preseason have seen successful gatherings and races, exceeding the usual participation in Norwegian telemark skiing. The growth and development of participants have been a source of joy, showing significant improvement over the years. The next three months promise a flurry of activities, including daily ski training, weekly gatherings, and races.
Event Lineup, upcoming Telemark Skiing Events and Training
The planned events include:
- January 19-21: Gathering in Ål
- January 26-28: Gathering in Hafjell
- February 2-4: Gathering in Nordheimsund (TBC)
- February 8-11: Gathering and FIS race in Varingskollen
- February 13-18: Gathering and World Cup in Ål
- March 4-10: Junior World Championships in Stari VRH, Slovenia
- March 22-24: NM week in Lillehammer
- April 18-21: NM Classic and Kjeringi Open in Sogn
Participation Details
For the first gathering in Ål, participants can expect three ski days with a meeting on Thursday evening. The cost is 3000 NOK, covering lift tickets, accommodation at Actif Hotel with full board. The Hafjell gathering focuses on two ski days, starting Friday evening, with potential private accommodation and self-catering, reducing the cost to 700 NOK for age-specific categories and 875 NOK for others.
