Midwest Telefest 2026
Get ready for a weekend full of turns, laughter, and snow! The 36th annual Midwest Telefest returns to the Porcupine Mountains Winter Sports Complex in Michigan on February 6–8, 2026. It’s one of the biggest Telemark gatherings in North America — and a true celebration of free-heel skiing.
This event brings together beginners, experts, and families. Everyone comes to ski, test new gear, and share their passion for Telemark. The festival has become a winter tradition and a highlight of the season.
What to Expect
The weekend starts on Friday with the legendary “Shred the Gnar!” session. Clinics, demos, and races fill the next two days. You can learn from skilled instructors, test the latest NTN equipment, or join friendly competitions.
In addition, there are live bands, gear swaps, and evening potlucks. The mix of music, food, and good company makes the event feel like one big family reunion. Even if you are new to Telemark, you’ll find plenty of support and encouragement.
Why You Should Join
Midwest Telefest is more than just a ski event. It’s about community, creativity, and the joy of turning on free heels. The “Porkies,” as locals call the Porcupine Mountains, offer perfect terrain and a relaxed vibe. The mix of open slopes and forest runs suits every skill level.
Over the years, the festival has grown steadily. Each season adds new stories, new friendships, and a shared feeling of freedom. If you love Telemark skiing, this is a must-visit stop on your winter road trip.
